“Sweet & Sour” is my version of that dinner table game where every guest says what the best and worst parts of the day were. As we head into the weekend, I think it’s important to get the bad stuff off your chest and remember the positives as a silver lining and energizing factor. When the weekend hits, I like to release the “sour” and embrace the “sweet.”
Sweet: Thanks to the Presidents’ Day holiday, it was a short work week so I was able to recuperate from my bachelorette weekend. I wasn’t hungover, but after four straight days of going out and being surrounded by people at all times, I needed to shut myself away. I was overstimulated, so I didn’t get out of bed until 5 pm, spoke to no one, and spent the day catching up on tv. It was lovely and much needed. In other exciting news, our Golf Club (where we’re having our wedding reception) just purchased their own dance floor. It always seemed silly to me that they didn’t have one already – with as many events as they have, it would have paid for itself quickly and not required people to rent from an outside vendor. It’s also pretty cool that we’ll be the first people to use. I can’t wait to break it in. With our crew, we’ll give it quite a workout!
Sour: One, maybe two, people in our wedding party will be having surgery and unable to attend our wedding. I can’t sugar coat the fact that I am very upset.
