Last weekend was fabulous. My Mom was in town, which always makes me happy. The rain was absolutely AWFUL on Saturday afternoon, but we didn’t let it hold us back. We still bopped around the city as we love to do. Overall, the week was a busy one. I was hoping this week would be a little calmer, but that doesn’t look to be the case. I’m thinking I’ll have to say no to at least one event on my calendar for the sake of my sanity.
Jeff Koons is back at Rock Center, and this time his installation is a giant, seated ballerina in his typical balloon style. Up close, she’s pretty incredible, so I’m glad we took this little detour just before my Mom headed to the airport.
I’m cheesin’ bigtime in this photo because 1) I was giddy about our impromptu Broadway date night on Wednesday and 2) I was already a few glasses of wine deep. Albert had bought a Groupon for pre-wedding dance lessons that we never ended up using and they allowed him to exchange it for a Broadway show. We were able to see Miss Saigon, a much-lauded show that had a major presence at the Tony Awards just three days prior. The show was great – I’m so glad I finally got to see it – and it was fun to have a mid-week date night in such a gorgeous theater.
I was pretty successful at the Alice and Olivia sample sale last week. I walked away with a dress, top, bodysuit, collar, and belt – all for about $240. Considering the dress alone retailed at almost $400, I’d say I did well. I was so happy they had tons of stuff from the current season, and I got to add a few pieces from one of my all-time fave brands to my closet.
