Last weekend I was able to have a lovely date night, get in a few great workouts, and hung out with friends from all different parts of life. It was a weekend filled with variety that didn’t feel too crazy, and I loved it! This week is an interesting one because it’s my last one at work. YES. I got a new job. I’ll reveal more details later, but I’m both excited and nervous. I’ll be starting the new job on Monday, so this week has been all about tying up loose ends.
While my office may be allllll the way downtown, this part of the city has really built up in the last two years. I’ve got everything I could possibly need right at my fingertips. I walk through the Oculus every day and am always stunned by the architecture. Lately, I’ve loved passing by this snowman family. I wonder how long they’ll last now that the holidays are long over and everyone is pining for spring.
Part 2 of our date night on Friday was seeing “Lady Bird” in the theaters. Perhaps I have a soft spot for the film because it follows a somewhat awkward girl who is graduating high school in 2003, the same year I graduated high school. And, yes, I too was awkward. I disagree with the people who say it’s “Juno” without the pregnancy, but do think it’s a lovely coming of age story. It’s a story we may have seen before, but it’s still a wonderful film that I highly recommend seeing as we enter awards season.
One of my oldest friends (18+ years!) came to town for the night on Saturday. I never get to see Avery anymore so it was so nice to catch up. We went to Jacob’s Pickles on the Upper West (so good…such large portions) and just talked and talked and talked. This needs to be a way more frequent occurrence.
