This past weekend was a whirlwind! I went to Atlanta for a quick 36 hours for Beth’s wedding. I was bummed Albert and I had to split up (due to conflicting events), but I still had a great time celebrating a beautiful couple and squeezing in two lunches with old friends. I took a 6 AM flight there and a late night one back, which means I was working off no more than 5 hours of sleep for three nights straight. I’m finally feeling like I’ve caught up and have been focused on getting myself back into a routine. It’s hard though…because all I can think about is being home for the long weekend.
I’ve discovered my local coffee spot! It’s crucial to me to have a good local coffee shop nearby – it’s actually something I legitimately considered when we were house hunting. I’m obsessed with Harlem Coffee Co. It’s only about a 5 minute walk from our apartment, which has been key since I haven’t been able to find our coffee pot among all the moving boxes. I just hit my freebie and anticipate getting another in about a week and a half!
Albert had already left town on Friday night, and since I was waking up at 3:45 AM for my flight, I was definitely not going out. I took the opportunity to clean out my fridge and made a mini smorgasbord of delicious girly food. I ate it while binge-watching season 2 of “13 Reasons Why”. While it may not have been a typically “fun” Friday night, I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Beth and Sean’s wedding was at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. I have only been to the Botanical Gardens once before – for the Chihuly exhibit about 13 or 14 years ago. That exhibit is long gone, but a sculpture remains and happened to be right next to the cocktail reception area. The wedding as a whole was lovely and you couldn’t ask for a more beautiful setting. Also, while Chihuly is always stunning, the current storybook exhibit is pretty cool – you should stop by if you happen to be in the Atlanta area.
