Everything Bagel Pasta

Does anyone else feel like the everything bagel seasoning craze has died down? Well it’s certainly taking a backseat to pumpkin spice right now, I can tell you that much. I’m here to tell you it doesn’t need to take a break from my spice cabinet. I don’t think you need to put it on everything, but it can really add a fun wow factor to some simple dishes. Case in point: this basic pasta dish. (I used this as my inspiration and adapted.)

This pasta couldn’t be simpler. You’ll need rotini or fusilli pasta, cream cheese, milk, cream, or half and half, everything bagel seasoning, and chives. Then just follow a 3-2-1 process. For every tablespoon of everything bagel seasoning, plan for 2 tablespoons milk/cream/half and half and 3 tablespoons cream cheese. Make your pasta and when it’s about 2 minutes away from being done, make your sauce by whisking together the cream cheese and half and half (or whichever milk product you use) in a pan. When it’s combined, add the everything bagel seasoning. Toss in the pasta, perhaps using some pasta water if it needs it, and top with chives.

This was surprisingly so good, easy, and (depending on the varieties you choose) relatively light for a pasta. There’s tons of flavor for very minimal effort, making this yet another example of why this seasoning blend should not be overlooked. It really can do it all.
