Santiago’s Beer Garden

We love a beer garden…especially when it’s more about the garden than the beer. Santiago’s Beer Garden has a gorgeous outdoor space, featuring colorful murals and café lights that’s perfect for dining al fresco. It’s also perfect for brunching. There’s a sweet bottomless deal here seven days a week – $25 for an hour and a half of mimosas or bellinis with the purchase of an entrée. That deal made Santiago’s quite the hot spot on our Saturday visit. Since it’s in a pretty residential neighborhood we saw several families, but we also saw tons of tables gettin after it and feelin the dj. We might have been in the Barrio, but this was serving East Village.

I love a meal that feels like…a full meal. That’s why I like that every entrée here is basically protein + rice. It really feels like home cooking – Dominican home cooking. I went with skirt steak and yellow rice while my beau got chicken and coconut rice. Both were incredibly tasty, particularly Albert’s chicken, and that floral garnish just made me happy.

If you’re an uptowner and looking for a fun brunch, there’s no need to head all the way downtown. Santiago’s got you covered.
