Last weekend ended up being very busy. So busy, that looking back I’m feeling grateful I decided to spend Friday night at home alone – I needed my rest! On Saturday, I left the apartment at 8:45am and didn’t return til 8:45pm. I never stopped moving but loved that it was a day spent watching my kid be joyful and hanging with new friends and best friends. Sunday we spent the day in Connecticut and V got carsick on the way there – vomit was everywhere and we had to pull into a [thankfully] nearby Target to get new clothes and cleaning supplies. It was eventful to say the least. Pretty much every weekend from here on out is designed to soak up as much summer fun as possible.
Friday night pizza on the couch with some rosé. I was in heaven.
There are few things better than eating and drinking on a boat. Doing it with best friends is absolute perfection. Finn had a birthday party at what turned out to be a pretty epic playground. We had plans to hang with the Gorinson crew and told them to just meet us there when the party ended. The kids ran around for another hour and a half and then we headed to the Baylander for food, drinks, and sunset on the Hudson.
When they announced Cats: The Jellicle Ball was closing on 8/8, I bought tickets that very day. As luck would have it, my friend Lucia texted me to see if I’d want to go while I was staring at the TodayTix app. I sent her a screenshot of my view and she agreed it was kismet. We went on Tuesday and it was so much fun. I am actually NOT a Cats fan, but I am most definitely a Jellicle Ball fan. The ballroom setting actually made MORE sense and gave the show some much needed structure. I thought Ragtime was wonderful, but this probably should have won the Tony for Best Revival – they did something so different and fun. André de Shields is incredible and it was a privilege just to share the same airspace.
