Ever feel like you need to get something off your chest? Sometimes I’ve just gotta talk it out. That’s why I’ve decided to do a monthly feature called “Thoughts On…” At the beginning of the month, I’ll provide a prompt to stimulate discussion. The point is to get us to put our thoughts out there – writing it all down can be quite cathartic. If you want to keep your writing private, that’s your thing and I won’t question it. If you’re ready to put it all out there, I invite you to share your thoughts in the comments. At the end of the month I’ll provide my own thoughts on the topic of the month. Think of it as a book club for writing.
When it comes to both fashion and romance, Breakfast at Tiffany’s is supposedly the ideal. I have seen a million lbd/pearls/chignon/sunglasses/gloves costumes paying tribute to the famous Audrey look. It is an iconic film, but do you really like it and what it represents?
- The movie (and definitely the book on which it is based) actually has very dark roots. These characters live a fancy free life because they’re escaping something. Do you skate over that part when you watch it? When you think about it, does that make the movie less romantic or is it more romantic because it’s more realistic.
- Holly and Paul have a nice lil meet-cute in their apartment building. Do you have a similar story with your significant other?
- Holly and Paul find each other as the veneer of their lives is cracking. Do you think it’s true love or the comfort of having someone?
- If it is true love between Holly and Paul (vs. the superficial relationships of their past), do you think it can last?
