This past weekend was a complete blur. I left work, picked up a new iPhone, facetimed with my nephew, and met up with Liz just as she got off the train from DC. Over the course of the weekend I was lucky enough to hit up my favorite places with my favorite person. We started by going to a fave sushi spot on Friday night, did an intense workout on Saturday morning, my favorite neighborhood restaurant on Saturday night, and capped it all off with a trip to Eataly, my happy place. There was a lot of alcohol involved so the weekend is a bit blurry, but the one thing that’s clear is that I had the BEST time. This Saturday we have a wedding, but I’m going to try and keep my Friday and Sunday relatively clear because two completely packed weekends in a row might be pushing it.
Liz requested a boozy brunch on Saturday, and that’s what she got. Because we weren’t eating til later, we actually had no problem getting seated at Agave for their bottomless brunch. The food is good and the margaritas are strong, so it’s always a great option when you want a fun weekend meal. We got a spot outside so we could enjoy the gorgeous West Village sunshine.
I wasn’t in the best mood on Sunday morning and in an effort to turn my frown upside down, Albert suggested a stop in one of my favorite stores, Fish’s Eddy, and even agreed to take my pic in front of this street art (something he would normally roll his eyes at). It worked. I was in a much better mood for the rest of the day.
We had zero plans on Sunday and Liz’s train wasn’t until 8 PM so I randomly suggested we go to Eataly. Not only did we miraculously get seated immediately at their rooftop restaurant (which is currently operating as Sabbia, their Mediterranean theme), we ran into some friends and happened to be seated directly next to them. Being up there got me extra excited about the Amalfi coast portion of our upcoming honeymoon.
